The Bikers’ Classics will integrate a CSBK –Masters - Series race

It has been announced since a few weeks already :

 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the biggest show for classic motorcycles on the continent, the Superbikes will also race on the track in the Ardennes on the 29th and 30 of June and the 1st of July 2012.

To mark this first meeting of these fabulous large displacement motorcycles, an agreement has been made with the German Classic SBK series. This super spectacular series will take place during the Bikers’ Classics on Saturday the 30th of June for a 30 minutes race, which will be breathtaking.

The CSBK –Masters - Series follows the esthetical and technical standards that have made the success of the American races that are at the basis of the superbike races : few motorcycles with bodywork, big steers, big engines and craftwork frames. Races and motorcycles as only Americans can invent them!

The motorcycles of the CSBK –Masters - Series are divided according to three different technical definitions :

1. Vintage category : air cooled engine, 4 or 6 cylinders dated before 1983, displacement and frame free (also special frames). Handlebar and fairing are free. 2 pistons brakes are compulsory. The dimension of the wheels needs to be identical to the original size and upside-down forks are forbidden ;
2. AMA Legends category : air cooled engine, 4 or 6 cylinders dated before 1985, maximum 4 valves per cylinder, overcharged engines and injection forbidden. The frame has to be built of steel and has to match the original bike aesthetically ; at the maximum, a handlebar fairing identical to the original is authorised. A superbike handlebar is compulsory. Fork, wheels and brakes are free.
3. No limits category : the frame and tank have to be aesthetically similar to a motorcycle built before 1985. The engine can come from a motorcycle built before 1988, 4 or 6 cylinders. The engine of one make can be used in the frame of another make. Injection and overcharged engines are forbidden. The engine can be water-cooled. At the maximum, a handlebar fairing is authorised. A superbike handlebar is compulsory, fork, wheels and brakes are free.

Although the race takes place on Saturday, the day of all races, just before the start of the 4 Hours of Spa Classic, the training sessions of the CSBK will take place on Friday. Riders who would like to participate at this series can contact the promoter via the website www.classicsuperbikes.de.
